Eloise Grills, Nina Hassall + Jackie Gorring

Writer and artist Eloise Grills, along with artists Jackie Gorring and Nina Hassall, present an exhibition of paintings, drawings, sculpture and ephemera, to celebrate the launch of Grills’ anarchic illustrated memoir, through an exhibition at Radius Art in Hepburn from 3rd September to 15th October, 2022.

    Eloise Grills

    Eloise Grills is an award-winning writer, comics artist, poet and critic. Her work has been published widely in literary journals and anthologies including Meanjin, The Saturday Paper, The Rumpus, Going Down Swinging, Kill Your Darlings, Sydney Review of Books, The Lifted Brow and Borderless. She has been the recipient of many grants, including funding from the Australia Council, the Copyright Agency and Creative Victoria. Essays from big beautiful female theory have won the Melbourne Writers Prize and the Lifted Brow and RMIT non/fictionLab Prize for Experimental Nonfiction, and been recognised by the Peter Blazey Fellowship, and the Cosmonauts Avenue Nonfiction Prize.

    Nina Hassall

    Nina Hassall is an artist living on Dja Dja Wurrung land. Predominantly self-taught she works in a range of media including oil paint, pastel, watercolour, and charcoal. Working out of her studio in Clunes she’s currently exploring ideas of perception and identity using photographs, collage, and painting.

    Jackie Gorring

    Jackie Gorring has exhibited nationally and internationally and spent 3 months at Global Arts Village New Delhi and Ragani Art Village, Nepal, and Baoying China. Jackie’s work takes the form of relief print and sculpture, mixed media and household items. Jackie features in Dr Sasha Grishin’s Australian Printmaking in the 1990s. Her work is collected by National Gallery of Australia, Canberra Gallery and Museum and Parliament House Canberra, and many other institutions.
